Cub Fun Day

Hi all

This year for Cub Fun Day we will be concentrating on helping Street Children.  So Please see the Kit List on the reply slip on what donations we want.  Thank you all so much.

Join ROBIN HOOD at CUB FUN DAY

When:            3^rd March 2012

Where:           1st Strand Scout Hall, 62 Woltemade Street, Strand. Aim for Strand. Go past Somerset Mall on your left. This is Broadway (do not turn right to beach). Continue straight until you see shops on your left, and a big church on your right. At this robot turn right again and go to end of road where you will have to turn left. The hall is a few meters along.

Time:              13h00  to 16h00.

Cost:               R100, a new blanket and new or old books and/or clothing.

Tuck-shop:    Operating all afternoon for drinks and snacks.

Dress:             Cub T-shirts and civvies, hats, shoes and sun block.

Aim:                To have an afternoon of fun by visiting various bases and testing your skills in the great outdoors.

Akelas:           We ask each pack to be responsible for a base. Decide what you want to do at your base and one adult can dress in the appropriate Robin Hood theme e.g. shooting with bow and arrows, dress as Robin or Will Scarlett. Provide a poster to name your base e.g. Shock the Sheriff.  Provide your own chairs and table (or ask for one) if needed and an umbrella?

Closure:         Check grounds are clean

                        Akelas please keep your bases as simple as possible and try to limit the amount of handwork. The following bases have already been selected and will give you an idea of what we are looking for.

1.    Knock down the row of parrots.

2.    Throwing at the face in the stocks.

3.    Skill with the electric coil e.g. SHOCK THE SHERIFF

4.    Aiming at tins hanging from a rope.

5.    Game with sticks and cans.

6.    Make a paper hat e.g. YEOMANS HEADGEAR

7.    Observation and stepping stones.

8.    Crossing a mock river with water cans on head.

9.    Obstacle course with mug of water on a string.

10. Work the Shadoof

Kit list - your own equipment for  you base and 

Each group must bring 1 new blanket, non perishable food stuff, new (very good 2^nd hand books) to be donated to Charity.

Old or new clothes that are washed repaired and ironed in a plastic bag with age group on it.
